Decision Lelystad Airport delayed

The decision about the expansion of Lelystad Airport might be delayed by five months. State Secretary Wilma Mansveld wrote this in a letter to the Dutch government. Her letter states that the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment needs more time to conduct research on all environmental impacts of the expansion.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has future plans to let Lelystad Airport operate 45,000 flights per year. This should provide Schiphol Airport the opportunity to operate more intercontinental flights and transfer traffic.
