KLM launches flight to Mauritius in cooperation with Air Mauritius

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will introduce a direct flight from Amsterdam to Mauritius in cooperation with Air Mauritius as from October 30th 2017. Through this cooperation KLM and Air Mauritius can provide a year-round product for the customers.

“Mauritius is literally a beautiful addition to the network of KLM. It has been on our wish list for a while, so I am glad that we can now offer a year-round flight to this stunning island together with our new partner Air Mauritius”, says Pieter Elbers (KLM President & CEO).

The summer service will be operated by Air Mauritius, two times per week effective 26th of March 2018, on Mondays and Fridays. A third weekly flight will be added on Wednesdays in August and October. Air Mauritius has been a strategic partner of Air France for many years. Air Mauritius will operate the Amsterdam-Mauritius route in Airbus A340 with 28 Business Class seats and 264 Economy class seats. Thanks to the partnership between KLM and Air Mauritius, a year-round flight from Amsterdam to Mauritius can be provided to their customers.

“The addition of the Amsterdam-Mauritius route to our network highlights our development objectives not only for the Dutch market but also to the whole of Europe using the extensive network of KLM. Amsterdam, together with our Paris hub reinforces the long-standing cooperation we have with Air France-KLM to Paris. This will enhance our offering to our customers by leveraging on these two strong European gateways”, says Raja Buton (Officer in Charge of Air Mauritius).
