KLM again achieves robust growth heading towards 30 million passengers

KLM succeeded in upholding the strong passenger growth trend in November 2016, achieving 7.8% growth in comparison with the same month last year with a marginally higher passenger load factor (0.8 percentage points). This even exceeded the already encouraging growth in passenger numbers achieved in the first 11 months of the year of 6.3% to almost 28 million passengers. If we succeed in sustaining this trend in December we will reach our target of 30 million set for 2016. Adding 14 new destinations in 2016 certainly appears to be bearing fruit! Transavia NL has also succeeded in strengthening its position in the European market with robust growth in passenger numbers during the month and throughout the first 11 months of the year.

Despite global growth of the cargo market, KLM Cargo saw volumes shrink by 12.2% this month in comparison with the same month last year, despite a significant 7.7% capacity reduction.
