Germania is basing a second aircraft in Münster/Osnabrück

The German airline Germania is celebrating the opening of its own waiting room at Münster/Osnabrück (FMO) airport. The gate – branded with the airline’s green and white livery – is now the designated departure gate for all Germania passengers that are about to board one of the two planes that are based at FMO airport. Those are an Airbus A 319 (150 seats) and an Airbus A 321 (215 seats).

In summer 2017, Germania will be flying holidaymakers from Münster/Osnabrück to 16 sunny summer destinations at the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Canary Islands. With more than 30 flights per week and an added capacity of more than 100,000 seats, Germania has now established itself as most the important holiday airline at FMO. The gate was designated its official new role during an opening ceremony in which Karsten Balke, CEO of Germania airlines, stated “we are convinced by the potential of the FMO region and have thus decided to meet the demand of flights with more frequent connections and new destinations.”

Osnabrück’s mayor and chair of the FMO supervisory board, Wolfgang Griesert, was very pleased at the news: “Germania is a renowned airline and their presence is more than positive for FMO and the surrounding region. An airport with such an attractive flight programme will help to satisfy the mobility needs of our citizens.” FMO CEO Prof. Dr Rainer Schwarz once again underlined the longstanding, beneficial partnership with Germania: “We are pleased about the commitment of this experienced airline and assure our full support. With their wide range of flights and the highly-regarded free board service, we can bring added value to the residents of the region.”
