Dutch travel managers optimistic

34 % of the Dutch travel managers expect an increase in business in 2014, as reflected in the AirPlus International Travel Management Study 2014 in which there could be chosen from increasing , stable or decline . Last year only 17 % of the Dutch travel managers expected an increase in business travel . Globally an average of 31 % of travel managers expect an increases, last year this was 32% .

In total AirPlus , the international provider of payment solutions for business, asked 954 travel managers in 24 countries for their study. It is striking that the Dutch travel manager is set more positively than other European travel managers about an increase in business. Only the French are more positive (35 %) .

Remarkably high expectations about an increase in the number of business trips coming from Brazil (60 %) , India (53 % ) and South Africa (47 %) . The Turkish travel managers set the most positive  73 % expect the number of business trips will increase (last year it was 50 %) . In countries such as Russia (20 %) , China (37 %) , Singapore (27 %) , Australia (27 %) , Mexico (20 %) , USA (36 %) and Canada  (27 %) the positive attitude is somewhat less.

Of respondents to the survey 42 % (the highest rate in the last five years) expected that the cost of business travel in 2014 will increase . In contrast, 42 % expect no change in cost and 14 % expect a decrease in costs . In the past five years, more travel managers expect no increase than the number that expected an increase.
